Tennis Program – Term 1

This week marks the third and final week of our Tennis Program at St John’s Tennis Club. It has been fantastic to see students from Prep to Grade 6 developing their skills and confidence on the court.

Throughout the program, students have learned how to correctly hold a tennis racquet while practising forehands and backhands, as well as participating in some match play.

For families interested in continuing with tennis, BTS Academy offers coaching sessions at St John’s Tennis Club. Please see the attached flyer for upcoming school holiday programs.

Interschool Sport Term 1

In Term 1, our Grade 5 and 6 students began their interschool sport competition in the Ivanhoe District. Each Friday, students participate in their selected sport, focusing on our Learning Powers of Creativity, Collaboration, and Perseverance as they try new activities and develop their skills.

We are very fortunate to continue our partnership with the City of Heidelberg Bowls Club for the fourth year running. Lawn bowls is offered as part of our Multi-Sport Program, where students are taught the correct techniques and skills involved in the game.

Other sports, including teeball, netball, and AFL 9s, have also begun training and competition against local schools in the Ivanhoe District. It has been wonderful to see students demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and applying our Learning Powers in a competitive environment.

We look forward to continuing Interschool Sport in Term 2.
