Season of Creation – 1st of September to the 4th of October

Each year, the Church celebrates the Season of Creation, a special time to reflect on our relationship with God’s creation and our responsibility to care for our common home. From the 1st September to the 4th of October, we are invited to notice the beauty of creation, give thanks for the world around us and consider how our everyday choices can help protect and nurture our environment. Many of our R.E. units and Prayer Gathering sessions this term have connected the Catholic Social Teaching of ‘Our Common’ home and our care of creation through looking at Pope Francis’ Laudato Si. As a Catholic school community, we are called to be people of hope, gratitude and action, caring for creation and one another.

Father’s Day

As we celebrate Father’s Day this coming weekend, we take a moment to give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, carers and other significant men who nurture, guide and support us. In the example of St Joseph, Jesus’ own Father, and Jesus himself, we see a model of quiet strength, love, faith, commitment and care. Today, we pray for all those who have a fathering role in our lives, giving thanks for the many ways they help us to grow, feel loved and know that we are never alone.

A Prayer for Father’s Day

Loving God,thank you for the gift of those who care for and guide us.Bless the fathers and father figures in our lives, and help us to show gratitude for their love and support.May we follow the example of St Josephby caring for others with patience, courage and love.

Amen.
