Feast of the Assumption (Saturday 15 August)

Last week on Friday, our school community gathered for a special paraliturgy celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This important feast holds a particular significance for St Mary’s, reflecting our school’s deep connection to Mary and our Catholic identity. Through prayer, reflection and song, our students were given the opportunity to learn more about Mary’s life and the significance of her Assumption, while celebrating her example of faith, courage and trust in God. It was a beautiful opportunity for our whole school community to come together in faith and recognise the special place Mary holds at the heart of our school.

Confirmation

Our Confirmation candidates and their families have now gathered for their Family Faith Night, an important opportunity to come together, reflect and prepare for this significant step in their faith journey.

The candidates will continue their preparation with a retreat day on Friday 21 August, including prayerful reflection, exploration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, activities, rehearsal in the Church and a special lunch provided by Father Jerome on behalf of the Parish. On Sunday 23 August at 10:30am, our candidates will be presented to the Parish community at the Senior School Mass as they prepare to receive the Sacrament.

We look forward to celebrating their Confirmation on Wednesday 26 August at 6:00pm in St Mary’s Church. In the coming days, we ask our whole school community to keep our Confirmation candidates in their thoughts and prayers as they prepare for this important moment in their faith journey.
