Victorian President's Report
Andrew Cock - APF Victorian President

Welcome back to a new school year! We hope you had the opportunity to enjoy some well-deserved downtime and quality times with family and loved ones. As the school year begins, there is already plenty of activity underway, and we look forward to an engaging and successful year ahead.
It is a privilege to write to you as the incoming President of the Australian Principals Federation. Definitely been an exciting, although strange change from welcoming the Preps to school and the normal start of year routines that I have been used to.
The APF has a long and proud history of representing, supporting and advocating for school principals across Victoria. It has never been more important that our collective voice is strong, credible and united and that is work I am deeply committed to leading.
I step into this role with a clear focus for 2026: strengthening our influence, growing our membership, and ensuring the lived realities of principals are front and centre in every conversation with government, system leaders and key stakeholders. The workload pressures, complexity of the role and sustainability of principalship are well understood by this community, our task now is to translate that shared understanding into tangible outcomes.
I want to acknowledge and thank our outgoing President, Tina King, for her leadership, integrity and tireless advocacy. She leaves the Federation in a strong position, with a respected voice and solid foundations on which we can continue to build.
Over the year ahead, my priority is engagement, listening to members, amplifying your experiences, and working collaboratively with State Council and our networks to ensure the APF remains relevant, responsive and effective. Growing our membership will also be critical. The strength of this organisation has always been its people, and expanding our reach strengthens our mandate.
I look forward to working with you and welcome your ideas, your challenges and your involvement as we shape the next chapter of the Federation together.
Thank you for the work you do every day, and for the trust you place in the APF to represent you.
