Introducing School Wide Positive Behaviour Support at Park Ridge Primary School
Park Ridge Primary School is excited to be launching School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) as part of our commitment to strengthening a safe, supportive and positive school culture.
SWPBS is an evidence-based approach that focuses on explicitly teaching and reinforcing positive behaviours. By using consistent language and clear expectations across the school, we aim to ensure every student understands what is expected and feels recognised for making positive choices.
Our New School Values
As part of this initiative, we are proudly launching our new school values, each represented by a colour:
We Are Respectful – Purple
We Are Kind – Orange
We Are Resilient – Teal
These values will guide behaviour expectations in classrooms, the playground and all school settings. Students will be explicitly taught what these values look like in action and supported to demonstrate them every day. The colours will be visible around the school and incorporated into lessons, displays and celebrations to reinforce our shared commitment to these values.
Value Tokens and Celebrations
Students will receive value tokens when they demonstrate behaviours aligned with our school values. Throughout the year, students will work towards token milestones, which will be celebrated as a whole school.
These milestone celebrations will replace our previous weekly value awards, allowing us to recognise consistent positive behaviour and celebrate growth over time.
We look forward to working together with our school community to continue building a culture where every student feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
