ICE-CREAM FRIDAY – December 15 will be the final time for 2023

Thank you to all parents and students for supporting our ice-cream stand over the past weeks.  We would like to thank Sarah B and Michelle H for being there to sell them each week and to Woolworths Prahran for donating the ice-creams, we are so grateful for their constant support.

 

PICK UP POP UP CAKE STALL – Wednesday December 20 at 1.30pm

Our final cake stall for 2023 is on the final day of the term.  Don’t forget it is at 1.30pm!  Join us for some afternoon treats and a catch up to bring in the school holiday vibe! If you can contribute some goodies, please bring them to the Food Tech Room on Wednesday morning at drop off or from 1pm before the stall begins.  Thank you to Megan Lim for organising the cake stalls each term and for all the parents that pitch in to help on the day!

 

2023 P&F Fundraising Report -  $24,000 RAISED!!!

Our focus this year has been to provide as many events that involve hands-on experiences for the kids. And I think the committee did a great job in supporting that goal! 

Here is a list of some of the activities the students were involved in:

Market Day in May - organising their own stalls and selling their wares on the day

Bunnings Workshops – All Grade 2-6 students had the opportunity to build their own toolboxes

Bliss Ball Drive – Grade 5 and 6 students all helped to organise and/or make the bliss balls, then package and distribute the orders

Cooking Classes – with 2 cooking classes per week, many of our kids had the chance to do a baking session in the Food Tech Room during the year

NGV Workshop – some of our senior students attended and were fully involved in an art workshop at NGV and their fantastic work is going to be displayed on the walls near the office

 

We hope to continue these hands-on experiences in 2024 and would love your input and involvement, so please reach out if you have any other ideas or would like to be part of the team!

 

Profits from our events this year also went towards lots of different school supplies and equipment which will help the school to continue running smoothly.  Below is a list of what your community support was able to achieve:

  • De-Fib machine for the school
  • New take home readers for ELC classes
  • New Big Books for Prep classes
  • Sporting Equipment (dodge balls, soccer balls, soccer goals)
  • Paint brushes for the Art Room
  • Beginning to create our Community Edible Garden
  • New Sick Bay bed
  • Supplies to be use for our ELC Investigations Module
  • Equipment for Food Tech Room to help run cooking classes
  • Ingredients for the Cooking Classes
  • Contribution towards Grade 6 End of Year Excursion and Graduation Night
  • Contribution to subsidise 2024 Grade 6 students school jumpers and tees
  • Sand and play equipment for sandpit

 

One passion of many P&F Committee members this year has been supporting the cooking classes.  We are very excited that this year we have set up the Food Tech Room with enough equipment to cook with a group of at least 8 students at a time.  We invested in mixing bowls, wooden spoons, whisks, can openers, vegetable peelers, baking trays, electronic scales, measuring cups and spoons, chopping boards, knife sets, frying pans, saucepans of various sizes, electric hand mixers and blenders.  We plan to continue to maintain this equipment and build on it over the coming years.

 

There are two reasons we have accomplished such an amazing result this year.
