ST VINNIES CHRISTMAS HAMPER DRIVE
Donations due by Wednesday 11th December
Christmas can be a very difficult time of year for many, and the basic human rights of food and shelter can often be taken for granted. St Vincent De Paul is a charitable organization that provides support to needy families and senior citizens in many ways. During the last couple of weeks we will be collecting non perishable food donations in support of St Vinnies Christmas Appeal. A collection basket has been placed in your child’s classroom in support of this worthy cause. Together, we can make a difference.
Last week the Grade 6 Catholic Identity Team visited each classroom to distribute baskets for the collection of the following items. Please read the descriptions carefully, each grade has been assigned a specific category so we can capture a more diverse selection of items:

UPCOMING WEEKLY PARISH MASS
There are no Friday School Parish Masses as we move into the Advent Season. The children will be participating in a Whole School Liturgy as part of Assembly each week on Friday afternoon. Families are encouraged to join us and celebrate during this time of waiting for Jesus in our liturgical calendar.
FRIDAY ASSEMBLY - WHOLE SCHOOL LITURGY
Last week the children participated in a Whole School Advent Liturgy that focused on the themes of anticipation and patience. During the week each class has discussed the anticipation of the coming of our Saviour and the patience needed during this time of waiting. Today as part of the ceremony two members from each class presented their ideas about anticipation and patience in the form of purple hands. The purple hands will be turned into an advent wreath and displayed in the church over the Christmas period.
