Prayer

Loving God, open our eyes to the people who are often overlooked, unheard or left on the edges.  Give us the courage to include, the strength to stand with others and the heart to make room for everyone.  May our choices build a community where every person knows they belong.

Amen.

St. Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

At the beginning of Term 3, we launched our annual St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal with a gold-coin donation pyjama/casual clothes day, raising $768.

We also launched the annual ‘Tinnies for Vinnie’s’ can drive for the local St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Monivae alumnus Bryan Roberts (Class of 1960), volunteer director at the local St. Vincent de Paul Centre, spoke at the school assembly about current local homelessness levels, catching many listeners by surprise.

Thank you to students and families for supporting this worthy cause, it has been wonderful to see so many students bringing supplies into the baskets in the chapel. Issoudun House is winning the competition at present, although you never know what the last day of term may bring.

Mission Fair Day

Get ready for an action-packed, spirit-filled Mission Fair Day!  Our staff and students are hard at work behind the scenes, preparing for one of the most anticipated events on our school calendar.

Here is a glimpse of what our students have been working on to make the day a success:

Whole-School Mass:  We will begin our day united in faith and community, gathering for a special Mass to reflect on the core purpose of our celebration: extending compassion and practical support to those in need.

House Singing Competition:  Rehearsals are already in full swing!  Expect fierce house rivalry, high energy, and incredible vocal talent as our student houses go head-to-head for the coveted singing trophy.

Festivities:  The afternoon will transform our grounds into a bustling festival.  Students are busy organising line-ups for the crowd-favorite dunking tank, setting up brackets for a fast-paced pickleball tournament, and preparing dozens of food stalls activities and games to raise money for MSC Mission projects.

Delicious Treats:  Our food stalls will be serving up warm, cheesy nachos alongside, a BBQ, hot dogs, party-pies, sausage rolls, classic ice-cream spiders and many more options to keep everyone energised throughout the festivities.

Most importantly, every dollar raised throughout the day directly supports the vital work of MSC Mission Outreach projects, helping fund education, healthcare, and community development for disadvantaged communities overseas.

In response to Fr Roger Purcell’s appeal (see below) regarding the construction of a Desalination Water plant in Kirribati, Monivae has already donated $8,000 – proceeds from last year’s Mission Fair Day fundraising efforts.  We plan to make another donation after this year’s Mission Fair Day activities.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, enthusiasm, and support for this year’s Mission Fair Day.
