Art with Miss Bailey

This term, Miss Bailey is teaching the students sewing in their Friday afternoon art lesson. Their first session covered safety with needles, patience when threading and tying knots and lots of excitement! The focus, resilience and determination was simply incredible according to Miss Bailey. 

Lots of skills covered in our first official “creating” sewing session :

• Sketching and designing facial expressions

• Choosing felt and thread colours

• Using a template to carefully cut felt

• Threading a needle and tying a knot

• Following our chosen design to sew faces

Next week the students  will stitch their hearts together, add stuffing and connect to a keyring!
