Year 5 Debating Final
On Monday 19th October, Roselea Public School’s Year 5 debating team competed in the final against Epping North Public School at Epping Rotary Community Hall. The topic was ‘Homework should be abolished in primary schools’, with Roselea arguing in favour of the topic.
All students spoke confidently and presented their arguments well. They also demonstrated excellent listening skills by carefully considering the opposing team’s arguments and developing rebuttals to challenge the other team’s points.
Although Roselea was unfortunately unsuccessful in winning the debate, we are all incredibly proud of the students’ efforts, teamwork and dedication. We hope they continue to develop their skills and pursue their interest in debating next year. Well done, Year 5!

Return of Perpetual Trophies
As presentation day draws near, we ask that all families please return any perpetual trophies to the school office by the end of next week (Term 4 Week 3).
Lions Club Food Drive
Our school will be participating in the collection of non-perishable foods as part of the Lions Club Food Drive this year. The club will direct our donations to local charities for distribution and make somebody’s Christmas a little brighter than it may otherwise be.
Cans and boxes are preferred so please try to avoid any items in glass containers. Some examples of non-perishable food items include: canned goods, rice, pasta, noodles, biscuits and cereal.
Items can be dropped off to the school office at anytime.
Thank you in advance for your support with this worthwhile cause!
