Student Counselling Opportunity

We have been very fortunate to have secured a counselling placement student from Monash University to work with our students over the next six months. If you think your child would benefit from talking to someone regarding friendship issues, worries or anxieties, self esteem, family dynamics, etc. please see your classroom teacher to discuss completing a referral form. Sessions can occur weekly, fortnightly or maybe just a single session, and all parents will be contacted prior to the students’ first session. Below is a short introduction from our counselling student.
"Hi everyone!
My name is Beatrice, and I’m currently studying for a Master of Counselling at Monash University. I’m really excited to be joining Aspendale Primary School as a counselling placement student and to be part of the wellbeing team.
I’m passionate about supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing, and I hope to create a space where students feel safe, comfortable, and heard. I enjoy using play-based and creative approaches like drawing, games, etc. to help children express themselves in ways that feel natural and engaging for them.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know the students and becoming part of the school community."
