Welcome to Term 2

Welcome back to Term 2! We’ve had a wonderful start to the term and are excited for all the learning ahead. This term, we will continue creating our own classroom Big Books with the support of our literacy consultant, Mr K. These books are an innovation on familiar stories we have read together, allowing students to revisit well‑loved texts while contributing their own ideas and writing.

In Writing, we have been focusing on recounts, beginning with sharing and writing about our weekends. We have also been learning about Anzac Day through stories such as Anzac Biscuits and Anzac Ted, helping students build understanding through meaningful and age‑appropriate texts.

Our Concept Inquiry topic for Term 2 is “Features of Familiar Places.” This week, we launched the unit by sharing our own special places, including home, school, and important locations in our community. Students enjoyed discussing what makes these places meaningful and how they use them in their daily lives.

We look forward to a fantastic term of learning, exploring, and creating together.
