Chinese New Year Celebration This Friday
Whole School Stomp Dance Lessons
On Monday, 16 February, we had the Stomp Dance Co. come to St John's to give us a little taster of their dance program. Each level attended a 30 minute session where they learnt age appropriate movements and choreography to Hip Hop music. It was great fun and we are grateful to Mrs Amanda Hill for organising this for us all.
St John's Twilight Sports Athletics Carnival
- Monday, 2 March - Twilight Sports
- 4.30pm arrival for a 4.45pm start
- Bill Sewart Reserve in East Burwood
All students are expected to come along to join in the fun and participate in the Track and Field Event at our Annual Twilight Sports Carnival.
This week we will meet in our House Teams to practice the House Chants and Dances, led by the Year 6 Sports Leaders.
We need parent helpers at the various events and to help with the BBQ too.
We look forward to seeing you all at this wonderful event.
Year 3/4 B Learning Spotlight - Health - How do I shine?
In Year 3/4, our students have been learning about their strengths and how they can use them to help themselves and to benefit others. They have shared how we are all different and that we each shine in our own unique ways.
The shields are a wonderful representation of how the students in 3/4B shine through their achievements, challenges, and strengths, and how they use these to continue to grow and develop.
BEBRAS
This year, the main round of Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge will be held in Term 1 from Monday, 9 February to Sunday, 8 March. Bebras is a fun and engaging computational thinking challenge for students in Years 3 to 6. It is an international challenge that involves over 2.9 million students from 60 countries. In Term 4, a FREE follow-up event will be held to celebrate international Bebras Week.
If you would like your child to participate in the BEBRAS challenge, please email Anna Hendy ASAP with an expression of interest. A permission form will be sent out next week.
