Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back, everyone! What a fantastic start we have had to Term 3. It has been wonderful to see our students return with such enthusiasm and a genuine eagerness to learn.

I would like to personally thank our school community for embracing and participating in our Student-led Conferences. It was wonderful to see so many families taking the time to celebrate their child's learning and engage in meaningful conversations about their progress. At Karoo Primary School, we value the strong partnerships we share with our families, and opportunities like these play an important role in supporting every child's learning journey. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to your child's education.

" I enjoyed the Student Led Conferences because I could tell my parents about school using my own words. I shared all the fun things I do at school and I showed the work I was proud of like my narrative. I feel more confident now that I have done this a few times"

" During the Student Led Conferences, students were able to not only tell their family what they have learnt but also demonstrate what they could do in the classroom. For example, my students used their whiteboards to demonstrate a maths skill they had learnt"

" I felt like the Student Led Conferences were a way for me to show my parents what I learn at school without just telling them. It was good for them to see it, not just hear it. I shared my Information Report, I was proud of the way I synthesised the information into readable paragraphs"

"One of the highlights of our Student-Led Conferences was watching students confidently share their learning, reflect on their growth and proudly celebrate all they have achieved. It was a joy to see the pride and excitement on their faces as they talked about their successes and the goals they have set for the future. These conversations provided a wonderful insight into each student's learning journey and highlighted their confidence, resilience and independence. It was fantastic to see students, families and our school community come together to celebrate learning and work in partnership to support every child's ongoing growth and success".

" I felt a bit nervous at the start then I started to feel better. I liked that I managed to share my work with my parents. I shared my 'Gollbat' story. I liked this story and I wanted to share it with Mum and Dad. The best thing I liked is then I got to take to story home. Mum and Dad said that I did a really good job".

As we continue to refine and improve this important experience, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. 2026 NAPLAN Results 

This week our Year 3 and Year 5 students received their NAPLAN results. We are incredibly proud of every student who participated and approached the assessments with their best effort.

Over the coming weeks, our teachers and Leadership Team will carefully analyse the results to celebrate the many areas of success while also identifying opportunities for continued growth and improvement. We look forward to using this information to further strengthen our teaching and learning programs.

If you have any questions about your child's NAPLAN results or would like support in understanding the report, please don't hesitate to speak with your child's teacher or contact me. We are always happy to help.

If you have not already collected your child's results, you can do so at the school office (parent signature required).
