Dear Karoo PS Community, 

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful break, filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.

As we begin a new term, we look forward to another exciting chapter of learning, growth, and achievement. Term 3 is always a busy and rewarding time, with many engaging learning experiences, special events, and opportunities for our students to shine.

To our students, we encourage you to embrace every opportunity, challenge yourselves, and continue to demonstrate kindness, respect, and a positive attitude. To our families, thank you for your ongoing partnership and support—it plays such an important role in the success of our school community.

We extend a special welcome to any new students and families joining us this term. We are delighted to have you as part of our community and hope you quickly feel at home.

Key Dates for Term 3 @ KPS

Please note an exciting addition to our Term 3 calendar - Superhero Day!

On this special day, students are invited to dress up as their favourite superhero and bring along a gold coin donation.  The day celebrates the idea that everyone can be a superhero by using their own unique strengths and abilities to make a positive difference.  All funds raised will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy, supporting an important cause, while encouraging inclusion, kindness, and community connection.

We look forward to seeing our students' creative costumes and celebrating the superheroes in our school community!

KPS Communication Overview

At Karoo Primary School, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to helping every student thrive. Open, timely, and effective communication is at the heart of these partnerships.  In response to feedback from our school community last year, we have continued to refine and strengthen our communication processes to better meet the needs of our families. Our aim is to ensure that everyone has access to clear, consistent, and relevant information about school life.

Compass Calendar Update

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving communication, we have refined our Compass Calendar to make it a valuable source of information for families.

The Compass Calendar now includes your child's daily timetable, important year-level events, and key whole-school activities, including assemblies and the events outlined below. By bringing this information together in one place, we hope to make it easier for families to stay informed and engaged throughout the school year.

We encourage all members of our school community to regularly access the Compass Calendar as a key source of up-to-date information.

Safety in Our Community

The safety and wellbeing of our students and families remains a top priority at Karoo Primary School.

Thank you to all members of our school community for your ongoing support in using the front car parks safely and respectfully. We have seen a tremendous improvement in traffic flow, and as a result, our morning and afternoon drop-off procedures are now operating very smoothly.

For students who walk home, we encourage families to ensure their child has a clear and familiar route and understands what to do if they need assistance along the way. Taking the time to discuss safe travel practices can help students feel confident and prepared.

For those students who walk through Waterford Valley Golf Club, please note that the club recommends this area not be used after 5:30 pm. Should assistance be required, the Pro Shop is open until 5:30 pm each weekday, and community members are welcome to seek support from staff during operating hours.
