This year we are once again involved in the NSW Premier’s Spelling Bee. The Premier's Spelling Bee is an engaging way for NSW public primary school students to expand their vocabularies and improve their spelling. Designed for Stage 2 and 3, Stage 1 students are welcome to participate.

The timeline for the event is as follows:

Weeks 3 -7	in class heats, followed by Year finals
Week 8	EPS finals where parents of successful finalists will be invited
Term 3 Week 3	Regional finals via Zoom

Students can practice at home with the wordlists. NSW Spelling Bee 2026 junior and senior wordlists are for your personal use only. No part of this word list covered by copyright may be reproduced, copied, shared or made available on the internet, via email, on an intranet, or by any other means without written permission of the publisher.

To reduce the risk of copyright breaches, we encourage students and parents studying the wordlists to The Arts Unit Website, https://artsunit.nsw.edu.au/program/nsw-premiers-spelling-bee and we can only share the password in a password protected location. The password for this site has been shared with your child via Google classroom, via the parent portal or you can call the school office and they will let you know. Please do not to share this password with anyone.

Jump Rope for Heart is in full swing at Eglinton Public School and it is wonderful to see our students sharpening their skipping skills while making a real difference for the Heart Foundation.
