Principal's Message 

March 2026

Our motto for 2026 draws deeply from the lives of our three great founders. Inspired by Bishop Daniel Delany, St Brigid, and Nano Nagle, we are reminded that true justice is expressed through courageous action - educating, empowering, and standing in solidarity with those on the margins so that all people may live with dignity and hope.

As a community, we take up this shared vision so that Killester College continues to be a place of dignity, hope, and belonging for all. Already this year, we have seen many signs of this spirit: in the warm welcome extended to our newest students, the Year 7s; in the formation of the Brigidine Cross for Peace; in our first assembly celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2025; and in the reverence of our Opening School Year Mass. Each of these moments reminds us of the strength of community and the support we offer one another.

Guided by the Science of Learning, our teachers have also united in shared practice to further enhance student learning. Together, they are adopting approaches that support memory retention, establish consistent routines, and ensure that students engage with teaching methods that are both familiar and grounded in strong research. 

As we enter the month of March, there are many wonderful opportunities for connection and community. Our Year 11 and 12 Retreats, Year 7 Camp, Dare to Dream days for our Year 10 students, International Women’s Day, Harmony Week and our Twilight Open Evening all offer meaningful ways to gather, reflect, and celebrate. I encourage parents, where possible, to join us in marking these significant moments.

To guide us throughout the year, we hold close the words associated with St Brigid, whose spirit of hospitality and justice continues to inspire our community:

“It is in the shelter of each other that the people live.”

A reminder that justice, dignity, and hope grow strongest when we stand together.
