TASSIE DEVILS SPOTTED IN PARIS 

A special piece of Tasmania made its way to swimming sensation Max Giuliani in Paris thanks to the love of his father and one of Australia’s leading cartoonists. When his son was selected to compete at the Olympics, Mic Giuliani contacted artist and cartoonist Jon Kudelka to see if he could produce a swimming cap with his much-loved Tasmanian devil on it.

Jack Welch (hockey), Jack Hale (athletics) and Hunter Wright (water polo) were deemed to be contenders for Paris representation but unfortunately missed selection.

Apology

In the list Old Virgilian Olympians in the June edition of OVAtion,  I failed to record that Scott Brennan did in fact compete in two Olympics – I omitted to include his gold medal performance in the 2008 Beijing games.
