R U OK? Day
Thursday 10th September, is the National Day of Action for R U OK? Day. On this day, we focus on the need for us all to be kind to each other, check in on how others are feeling, and how we are managing life and its challenges.
Of course, on any day of the year, we need to ask R U OK? because life happens every day, and starting a conversation could make a difference in someone’s life.
Prayer for R U OK? Day
WE WALK TOGETHER:
We walk together in hope,
just as Jesus walked with others
and asked them what they needed.
Today we pray that we may be guided
by the Spirit to do the same.
We walk with those who feel lost,
overwhelmed or alone, and we endeavour to create a space where others can be real.
We listen, because people matter.
We walk with each other, because connection matters and we ask “RUOK”, because we care.
We reach out in love to those we know.
We pray for those we cannot reach
and we practice self-compassion,
as we carry our own pain.
Leaving space for more to say.
We trust that God is walking with us
every step of the way,
whispering to our hearts.
We hold each other, today, in love, and we are held in love by the Compassionate One.
Today we stand together, held in love.
Amen
