Religious Dimension

A prayer for 'Spirit-filled' People
Heavenly Father,
Plant the seeds of your Holy Spirit within our hearts today.
Fill our school community with love and joy that brightens every classroom.
Help us walk with patience, kindness, and goodness toward one another,
showing faithfulness and gentleness in all our words and actions.
Give us the self-control to make wise choices that honor you.
May these gifts shine through us each day as a light to the world.
Amen.
Year 5 Retreat in the City!
As part of the Year 5 Religious Education program for Term 3 on 'Spirit-filled People', Year 5 ventured into the city for a Retreat Day. Our first stop was as St Patrick's Cathedral where we enjoyed learning about it's history from Father Michael Gallacher. We also explored the different areas of the Cathedral and saw many artworks and statues promoting discussion about the many Saints in the Catholic faith. After lunch, we then journeyed to the 'Mary Glowrey Centre'. Mary Glowrey led a life devoted to God and to helping people in need. Her life and work has been recognised by the church and Mary Glowrey is in the process of becoimng Australia's next Saint. The students enjoyed a session with the concepts of 'Humble Service', 'Selfless love for others' and 'Unwavering Faith' based on her life as an example to live by.
Thank you also to our St Roch seminarians Anthony and Patrick who took time to join us in our Retreat Day too.
October - The Month of Mary: Whole School Rosary - all welcome!
A Whole School Rosary will take place each Wednesday in October from 3.00pm in the hall.
October is the month of Mary. Mary is the mother of Jesus and of us all. Her life and choices she made are a model for us to live by. During our Whole School Rosary, we will be exploring the Joyful Mysteries that help us to learn more about Mary.
As a link to our School Theme for 2026: 'United by Faith, Sharing the Light', these mysteries will further our understanding of Mary as a model of Faith and a light for us all. As we reflect on Mary’s life, we will be reminded of how Mary's trust in God and her choices, can inspire our own words and actions today.
Many classes will also focus their classroom learning on Mary through the Rosary. They will develop their understanding of the traditional Rosary prayers and how this helps us to create a calm, meditative way to pray to Mary.
All families are very welcome to join us each Wednesday at 3.00pm in the hall.
Students are encouraged to bring Rosary beads from home if they have some, otherwise they will be provided at school.
