St Roch’s School theme 2026:
"United in Faith, Sharing the Light"
Dear Families,
Welcome to Issue 15 for 2026 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.
I am sharing the Leadership prayer below that our Leadership Team use at our meetings to remind us of our vision, our theme for this year and our commitment to St Roch's community!! We thank you all for a fabulous term and look forward to Term 4!! Wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday break.
Loving God,
United in Faith, we ask for the grace to Share Your Light with all those in our care.
Guide us as leaders, that we may provide a caring and supportive foundation for our community. As we, in turn, guide our staff and students, help us to grow alongside them.
Grant us the vision of the Mustard Seed. Remind us that the smallest seeds we plant;
the simplest gestures of compassion, the sharing of knowledge and the small acts of kindness, hold the power to grow into something vast and transformative.
Unite us as a leadership team, so that our collaboration serves as a living example of the mutual respect and community we strive to build.
As we aspire for academic excellence, may we be equally
committed to developing the wellbeing of all.
May our light shine before others, revealing your love to all in our community.
P&F Committee - Fundraising & Community
Our Parents & Friends (P&F) Committee is a wonderful group of people who support our fundraising efforts and ensure that our community events and activities include all.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful P&F Committee for their exceptional dedication and hard work throughout this year and past years. We thank Dave Crew, Will Cheang and Jess Mount for all they do to bring our committee together and to our Class Representatives, Fundraising Committee and General Committee members for their time, effort and continued support.
Funds raised over the last 6 years have directly enriched our school environment and student learning by fulfilling many key items such as the New Playground, upgrading of the playground surface, the Outdoor Classroom and so many more projects.
Thanks to their incredible fundraising activities and community events, our school community has raised an outstanding total of over $16,000.00 this year!
These generous funds will directly support our 'Wishlist' to enhance learning and play for every student. Looking ahead, this contribution will help fund exciting future projects including purchasing new Chromebooks, replacing classroom carpets, revitalising our basketball courts, introducing 3D printers and installing protective playground soccer nets.
We look forward to our next meeting on Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 7.00pm.
FROM SUNBEAMS TO DISCO DREAMS
Our biennial Art Show returns this year, celebrating the incredible creativity and imagination of our students from Prep to Year 6.
Throughout the year, our young artists have explored the theme of light in many wonderful and unexpected ways. From sunshine, moonlight and stars to glowing lanterns, sparkling disco balls and the changing light found in nature, students have discovered how light can inspire colour, shape, texture movement and imagination.
Our Art Specialist, Anne Pullen, has nurtured and developed the artistic skills of our students as they have experimented with a diverse range of materials and techniques. From painting and collage to sculpture, clay, mixed media and construction, each artwork reflects the unique creativity and growing confidence of our young artists.
We are delighted to invite you, our families and friends, to join us as we celebrate the wonderful artwork created by our students and experience how they have brought the theme of light to life.
Thank you to the five artists:
*Harper Connellan (Year 5)
*Divyanka Dhanjee (Prep)
*Marcus Tran (Year 1)
*Annabella Guerra (Year 1) and
*Joseph Chevaux (Year 2) Exceptional work!!
Come and see how our young artists shine!

Exciting News: Andy Griffiths Online Book Launch!
Some of our Year 3 and Year 4 students recently had the wonderful opportunity to participate in an online book launch hosted by the State Library for Andy Griffiths’ new book, You & Me and the Gigantic Knucklehead.
This event was during our Melbourne Footballers' Visit. Students were able to nominate which event they wanted to be a part of, hence, not all students participated in the online book launch.
As part of the event, students submitted creative entries for a special activity.
We are thrilled to share that St Roch’s entries came in as runners-up! Thanks to their incredible effort, our school has won a signed copy of Andy Griffiths’ new book for our library.
Congratulations to all the participating students for representing St Roch’s so brilliantly!
Well done Teresa Hogan and Carmel Rozario for bringing books to life in Year 4.
Grandparents Donations to the Library - Thank you!!
A big thankyou to all the grandparents of St Roch's children who kindly purchased over a total of $1600 worth of books, on St. Roch's Grandparents day. This is truly an amazing effort of your kindness and generosity to our school. These books will be available for the children to borrow next week.
We have increased the total amount of books in our library by 84 books.
Fantastic effort!!!!
Thanks again
