Sabit's Success
Congratulations to Year 8 student Sabit who won his Grand Final as part of the U14 Boys Moe Squad Team. In addition to this, Sabit was awarded Best on Ground and Runner Up League Best and Fairest for the U14 boys. Well done, Sabit!
Leading Goal Kickers and Shooters
Congratulations to the following students who were the 2026 Leading Goal Kickers and Goal Shooters in the Gippsland League:
- Fraser A – U18s Leading Goalkicker (46 goals)
- Sully J - U16s Leading Goalkicker (62 goals)
- Taylah V – 17 and Under Leading Goal Shooter (520 goals) and C Grade Leading Goal Shooter (636 goals)
Football Success
Congratulations to Hudson, Cooper and Flynn (photo below) for being invited to the League Awards Night. Well done to Flynn who finished 3rd overall in the League Best and Fairest.

Vic Country Best on Ground
Congratulations to Year 8 students Taylah and Keira who were recently part of the South West Gippsland U16 girls premiership winning Warragul Industrials Team. Well done to Keira who was awarded the Victoria Country Best on Ground.
Grand Final Success
Congratulations to the students who recently represented the Warragul Gulls Junior Football Club in the WDJFL 2026 Grand Final, finishing the season as Premiers. Congratulations to Jobe who received Best on Ground. Well done everyone!

Basketball Update
Recently, we had four teams across Year 7 and 8 represent Lowanna at the West Gippsland Junior Basketball. Lowanna had a successful day, with all four teams remaining undefeated and all advancing to the Gippsland round next term.
Congratulations to our U15 girls and U17 girls basketball teams who recently competed at the Basketball Champions Cup Elite 8 Stage. Both teams competed well throughout the day against some of the top schools in the state. Well done girls!
Soccer Update
Over the past few weeks, we have had three teams represent Lowanna at the State Soccer Finals including the Year 7 Girls, Year 8 Boys and Intermediate Girls soccer teams. All three teams put their best foot forward but did not make it through to the next round. Congratulations to everyone who competed on the day!
Gippsland Athletics
Recently, we had a number of students compete at the Gippsland Athletics. Congratulations to Coby J, Harvey B, Aurora C and Olivia M who received 1st place in their events and have advanced to the State Finals. Well done to all who competed and good luck to the four students who will compete at the State Finals!

U18 Boys Gippsland Power to the Grand Final!
Congratulations to the U18 Boys Gippsland Power Football Team who recently won their Preliminary Final in a nailbiter and have advanced to the Grand Final this weekend against Dandenong. This is a huge achievement for the team and the Gippsland Power Football Club as this will be the clubs first Grand Final since 2012. Well done to the following students who have either played throughout the season or were part of the winning team over the weekend:

Ricky Mentha – Melbourne Football Club Update
Former Sports Academy student Ricky Mentha has re-signed with Melbourne Football Club for the 2027 season. We look forward to seeing where next year takes him.
