Principal's News

'Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness.'

Anne Frank

Dear Families

Today is the first day of Spring - a metaphor for change. Some changes we eagerly await, and some not so much. Some changes we plan and others arrive uninvited. To all these changes we ask God for the gift of perspective with expectation, hope, and rebirth. We ask God to open our eyes and lives to the needed changes in our lives this Spring and awaken us to new life and perspective.

A FEW KEY UPDATES:

ESO Appreciation Week

This week we are celebrating our amazing Educational Support Officers in our school. They have a critical role to play at Our Lady of Fatima and highlighting and celebrating their experience and professionalism is a must. If you see one of our amazing ESOs, make sure you say thank you!

Farewell to Lyn

On Friday 19th August, we farewelled Lyn, our much appreciated and loved crossing person. Lyn served our community for 16 years, always with a cheery greeting, smile and many chats! We wish Lyn every happiness in her retirement and thank her for her dedicated service. Below you will find a lovely thank you letter to us all from Lyn - enjoy.

Father's and Special Friend's Breakfast

We look forward to greeting many fathers and special friends from 7.45pm at our breakfast tomorrow, including some fun activities and to see our new giant outdoor games in action.

We wish all our wonderful Dads and special friends out there a Happy Father's Day! Whether you are a Dad, Daddy, Step Dad, Dad-to-Be, God Father, Uncle, Grandfather, stepping up as a father figure or a special person - thank you. The world needs you and we are grateful!

Footy Colours Day - Last Day of Term 3

In Week 10, on Thursday 15th September students are invited to dress up in their Footy colours and support their much loved team. Students are more than welcome to wear other codes too. The day will include a gathering outside in the morning - playing and singing along to our much loved theme songs, some activities organised by Mr Koole and a special canteen lunch. Look out for more information via Skoolbag next week.

Term 4 School Closure Dates

A heads up that Monday 31st October is a School Closure day, this is the Monday of the Melbourne Cup weekend. Also the students last day of the school year is Friday 16th December. I trust this helps with any forward planning.

With just two weeks left of the term, we look forward to welcoming more pleasant weather and as well for those of us...footy finals! Go gently over these weeks, it's strange to think that our students (and staff) have not had three terms onsite since 2019.

Take care

Sarah McDermott :)
