What a fantastic celebration our students have had over the past two weeks in Melbourne, with Dreamtime at the ‘G followed by Reconciliation Week.
Over the past four years these important weeks have become some of the most anticipated in our MITS calendar. For our students, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the great community of people who come to support them at MITS. From banner making with the cheer squad, to hosting Richmond players and staff for lunch, to the celebrations at the ‘G, we see the strength of the community that our students are a part of and the great gifts that they bring to Melbourne and share with all around them.
Over the coming weeks, our focus returns to the classroom, where the students are making great progress. A particular focus is reading aloud to adults – through the support of our great staff and volunteers, our MITS students will be reading to an adult every day. I encourage our parents to talk with your kids about their reading and to continue their reading with them when they return home for holidays in a few short weeks.
