Volleyball Year 6

On September 4, 2025, all the grade six students participated in a volleyball championship. We were split into 2 teams, team A was LA7  and team B was LA8 .

Both St.Mark’s teams made it into the semi finals, team A opposing St Mathew’s and team B were opposing St Dominic’s, we both sadly lost.  But the thing that matters the most was we tried our best and we collaborated as a team to make it to the semi finals!  It was frustrating when we lost some sets but the teams didn't give up.

4/09/25.  We all went on the Penola bus that they kindly provided for us when we arrived, we met different schools from different areas where we got to play volleyball.  The games commenced at 9:30am and ended around 2:15pm.  It was a great experience to play in our last year of primary school, we all most importantly had so much fun opposing other students with different skill levels in Volleyball!  We all co-operated with each other by using communication and supporting and cheering for everyone in our teams.  Both teams got into the Semi Finals but lost against the two teams we were opposing, the others who did win the semi got into the finals.  Everyone had something to remember when graduating from primary school.  I personally think most of us had a great time.

On the 4th of September, every year 6 attended the annual volleyball tournament hosted by Penola on the senior campus.  At 9:00 we hopped on to the bus and headed to our first stop to pick up our opponents from St Matthew’s primary school.

The ride was filled with laughter and teasing when we interacted with the other school. When we arrived at Penola we settled down with the rest of the schools as the organisers explained the rules.

I was a part of team B (all of LA8), our first match was against Glenroy Private, which we won.  We had many matches and one break for the B team.  In the end we got into the semi finals but sadly we lost.  It was great fun watching St Dominic's and St Matthew’s in the grand finals.  Even though we didn’t win, I feel that St Dominic’s fully deserved their win.
