Hi everyone,

Meet Teddy 🐾

Teddy is Miss Lisa’s puppy and is beginning his training to become a school wellbeing dog. He is not our school wellbeing dog... just yet. As part of his training, Teddy will occasionally visit school so he can gradually become familiar with the sights, sounds and routines of a busy school. You might see him at drop-off, pick-up or during a short lesson.

Once fully trained, Teddy might support students by providing comfort during difficult moments, helping them to feel calm and ready to learn, encouraging positive social interactions and creating opportunities to practise kindness, patience and responsibility.

Teddy’s School Rules

When Teddy visits, students are asked to:

Always ask Miss Lisa before patting Teddy.
Walk slowly and calmly near him.
Use a quiet voice and gentle hands.
Give Teddy plenty of space and do not crowd around him.
Let Teddy see you before touching him.
Pat Teddy gently on his back or shoulders.
Do not call Teddy or give him commands.
Do not feed Teddy.
If Teddy walks away, let him go—this means he needs space.
Listen to Miss Lisa and follow her instructions straight away.
Wash or sanitise your hands after patting Teddy.
Tell an adult if you feel worried, frightened or unwell around Teddy.

Teddy is still a puppy and is learning how to feel calm and safe at school. There is no expectation that he will take on a wellbeing role until he is fully trained and comfortable in the school environment. For now, we can help Teddy with his training by being quiet, kind and gentle whenever he visits.
