Badminton Tournament:

On Thursday the 15th of August 17 students from grades 4-6 represented the school at the Shepparton Doubles badminton tournament.  The students showed great sportsmanship and skills to come away with wins in every division.

Our Div 1 team won all of their matches coming away with the Division 1 championships beating Goulburn Valley Grammar School in a hotly contested final.  Our other Division 1 team also showed great determination and skill coming home with 3rd place

In Division 2 our team played extremely well together and also were undefeated for the day and brought home the Division 2 trophy.  Well done on a great team effort.

The 5 boys in our Division 3 team played fantastically all day and showed great teamwork swapping partners and making sure everyone was included.  The boys showed their badminton skills and did not drop a game all day.

We also had 3 students that won rackets on the day for showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.

Well done to all of the students and it was a great team display from all.

AFL 9’s:

On Tuesday a group of year 5/6 students traveled to Benalla to play in the Regional AFL 9’s.  Although it was a wet and cold day our boys took to the field full of energy and excitement.  In this very fast flowing game some good skills were on show.  In the first game our boys took on the very strong Yarrawonga p-12 college (eventual winners) and played well but were unable to get the win.  In the second game against Bandiana it was a much closer game with our boys winning the game by 2 points with a goal kicked on the siren to take the win.

The third and final game was against Rutherglen and this is where the boys played their best football when they started really working as a team.  All 12 players were able to score across the course of the three games.  Well done boys and you should be proud of your efforts.

Mini Olympics:

Next Friday the 30th August we are joining with Shepparton Access to run a Mini Olympics on the oval to coincide with the Paralympics that will be running in Paris.

This will be a great day and we encourage parents to come along and watch their children join in some fun events.  We will start at 11.45am and conclude at about 2.00 pm.

Students will be broken into multi age groups with Shepparton Access participants joining our groupings.  The groups will rotate through a number of novelty activities.

We are asking students to wear their school sports uniform but they can have a touch of green and gold if they would like.  This could be in the form of a hair tie or something small.

We hope everyone can get involved in this day and help support our Paralympians.
