Last Thursday 18th July we had 5 students who proudly represented IPS at the State Schools Victoria Cross Country Championships which were held at Yarra Glen Racecourse. It was very challenging conditions given the weather. The track was extremely wet and muddy. There were 90 - 100 competitors in each of the races.
In the 9-10 years Girls over 2km Ashley came 23rd and Violet was 29th.
In the 11 years category over 3km Maddie was 43rd in the Girls race while Sonny was 62nd in the Boys.
In the 12-13 years race over 3km Allegra came 11th.
Allegra backed up again on Saturday 20th July competing in the Athletics Victoria All Schools Cross Country Championships held at Bundoora Park. Running 3km in the 14 years race against 129 competitors from State and Private Schools Allegra came 22nd overall and 9th place for her age category to gain selection in the Victorian Team for the National Championships to be held in Tasmania in August!
Looking ahead
Change of dates for Jump Rope for Heart.
Has now been moved to Term 4. For 4 weeks from the 25th of November to the 20th December we will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. It will be for students in Foundation to Year 2 and will be a part of their PE program at this time.
