Policy Updates: Supporting Student Health and Wellbeing

Wyndham Vale Primary School is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students. We have recently reviewed and updated several key policies that support the health needs of our school community:

Anaphylaxis Policy – Outlines our procedures for identifying, supporting, and responding to students at risk of severe allergic reactions, including the use of adrenaline autoinjectors and development of Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plans.
Asthma Policy – Details our response protocols and management plans for students diagnosed with asthma, including the use of personal asthma kits and emergency response procedures.
First Aid Policy – Explains how staff manage illness and injury at school, the role of our First Aid Officer, and the procedures for responding to both minor and serious incidents.

These policies are available on our school website for families to review. If your child has a medical condition, please ensure the school has an up-to-date action plan and current medication on file.

Assemblies:

Assemblies will now take place on Friday afternoons in the school gymnasium, in a face-to-face format. These assemblies will alternate each week:

Even weeks will feature Foundation to Year 2 (F-2) students
Odd weeks will feature Years 3-6 students.

The assemblies will begin at 2:10pm and end just before the school day concludes.

We warmly invite parents and carers to attend the assemblies. To ensure smooth access, please enter via the pink (rear of school) and purple (Manuka Grove) gates, which will open at 2:00pm.

Today we had our first F-2 assembly, and it was great to see the students and families in attendance.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our assemblies soon!

Foundation to Year 2 (F-2) students:

30th May, 13th June & 27th June

Years 3-6 students

23rd May, 6th June & 20th June

If you are the holder of a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card you are entitled to receive funding called CSEF - Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund. You may have received it last year but if you have a sibling that started this year you will need to fill in a form for that child. If you have transferred from another school you will also need to fill in a form with us, forms are available from the office.
