Principal's Report

It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the halfway mark of Term 2! This time of year provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the learning, growth and community connections that have shaped our journey so far. At WVPS, we remain deeply committed to our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty—values we see our students demonstrating each and every day in their learning, their relationships, and their contributions to our school culture.

A special thank you to all families who joined us for our recent Community Picnic. It was heartening to see so many of you sharing in the spirit of connection and joy, and the event was a great reminder of the strength and warmth of our school community.

2026 Enrolments (Foundation to Year 6)- Now Open

We are excited to announce that enrolments for 2026 (Foundation to Year 6) are now open. We encourage interested families to reach out to the school office to receive enrolment paperwork. To support families in learning more about our wonderful school, school tours will be offered on Monday 27th May and Monday 17th June. Please contact the school to register your interest—we would love to welcome you and share what makes WVPS so special.

Attitude to School Survey (Years 4-6)

Over the coming weeks, all Year 4–6 students will be participating in the statewide Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS). This important survey provides a valuable platform for our students to share their perspectives on their experience at WVPS. We look forward to reviewing the insights from this survey as they are released later in the year and using them to continue enhancing our learning environment.

District Cross Country

A huge congratulations to our students who recently represented WVPS at the District Cross Country event. Their effort, sportsmanship and dedication are a credit to both them and our school—well done!

2025 Voluntary School Contributions

A reminder that voluntary contributions for the 2025 school year are now open. We sincerely thank the families who have already made contributions. These funds directly support the provision of essential resources, including classroom stationery, digital devices (such as Chromebooks and iPads), and enriching learning programs across both general and specialist areas. Contributions can be made in person at the school office or online via the Compass platform.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership in making WVPS a thriving learning community. Together, we remain committed to our vision of success for all in learning and wellbeing, ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their best.

Warm regards,

Chris Johns
