Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Update

EBA Negotiations Update 3 – Term 2, 2026

The negotiating team has now had the opportunity to undertake an initial review and debrief on the detail of the proposed package received late last Friday. There are a number of positive movements within the offer, including some significant outcomes that reflect sustained advocacy on behalf of Principal Class members. Importantly, there are also several areas where we continue to seek further clarification, refinement and commitment from the Department.

At this stage, the team is continuing to work carefully through the implications of the offer, including the broader industrial, operational and member impacts. We remain focused on ensuring that any proposed agreement appropriately recognises the increasing complexity, accountability and workload associated with the Principal Class.

Thank you to members for your ongoing engagement, feedback and support throughout this process. Your perspectives continue to play an important role in informing the next steps of negotiations.

I would like to sincerely acknowledge and thank the negotiating team - Michael Jones, Wendy Powson, Aaron Jones and previously Tina King -  for the enormous body of work undertaken across the development of the Log of Claims and the ongoing strategic negotiations with the Department. Their commitment, expertise and sustained advocacy over many months have ensured that the voice of Principal Class employees has remained firmly at the centre of discussions.

Members will have recently received an email regarding two upcoming online webinars to discuss the proposed offer. These sessions will provide members with an opportunity to hear directly from the negotiating team, gain further clarity around the detail of the offer, and ask questions regarding the proposed outcomes and next steps. We strongly encourage members to attend one of the sessions as part of ensuring everyone is well informed ahead of any future decision-making process.
