Wominjeka to OSHC

Coordinator: Alexis Simmonds and Assistant Coordinator: Sarah Emerson

 27th April - 8th May 2026

We acknowledge the first peoples of the Kulin Nation, their Dreaming of the past, present and future. We pay our respect for their land by looking after the land we learn and play on.

Hello IPS families,

OSHC has been a hive of activity these first 3 weeks of term. This week in light of Mother’s Day this Sunday, we have been spoiling all those special people in our student’s lives at pick up time. Our take home snack, usually for the children, is this week for the adults picking up the children. Teaching them about giving back to those they love and showing their appreciation for all they do.

Other activities children have enjoyed these past couple weeks are:

  • Kick to kick and markers up
  • AFL matches
  • Felting and sewing
  • LOTS of cooking
  • Story time in the book nook
  • Developmental play in the second room
  • Word games at Before Care
  • All it Tiggy
  • Gardening
  • Big box craft
  •

In staffing news we have said a sad farewell to Imogen who is off to teach in the UK for a year. While Imogen has only been with us a short time she has definitely made an impact on many of the students and proved to be a highly valued educator, bringing knowledge, care and passion for student’s education. We wish her all the best in her next adventure, hoping to see her again when she returns.

Garden Update

Our garden has been replanted with cabbages, cauliflowers and broccoli while our spinach crop is still thriving. Students planted cuttings of sage and rosemary which we’re hoping will take and be added to our growing herb collection. Keep an eye out for our harvest basket, placed outside our OSHC gate, and grab yourself some fresh grown produce. Families have been enjoying spinach, parsley, mint, tomatoes and a giant 40cm zucchini which has been used in afternoon tea and cooking recipes for all to enjoy.
