Student Leadership Report

Hi all! 

It is your School Captains here! This is our first newsletter for this term! We can’t believe it is already Term 2. Happy Mothers Day for this weekend! Hope everyone has fun with their Mums and special people. 

Earlier this week, on Monday, some students from the middles and seniors  

attended the district cross country at Geelong race course. Everyone did so well and we got the most kids through in our district to the next round! Let’s go Newtown!

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, some of our Senior students went to Myers’s Reserve to attend our soccer and AFL9's lightning premiership. They competed against many local schools. Netball will be played on Wednesday next week. Our progressive soccer team got through to the next round, and our progressive AFL9's team put in a great effort!

On Thursday, the school captains attended the Young Leaders' Breakfast at NGSC (North Geelong Secondary College). We also had to wake up at 7am... way too early!

We heard from Laura Hingston, an Australian Olympic-level diver. She taught us some strategies on how to complete our goals. It was a lot of fun. At the end we had a LEGO competition where we had to build a LEGO racecar as accurately and as quickly as possible.
