Principal's Message

Good afternoon all,

We have had a great start to what will be a busy term! Our Year 3/ 4s enjoyed an action packed camp experience at Campaspe Downs School Camp near Kyneton in Week 1.  The students tested their limits with lots of fun and challenging activities and also by being away from home for three days and two nights!  It was a great experience for our students who returned very tired at the end of the trip.  Our staff did a great job supporting our students and were also very tired after the experience – but loved it all the same!

Our recent fundraising from the Easter raffle raised almost $1300!  This week we replaced the old projector in our Mercy Centre and we now have a very clear projector for our Mercy Centre!  Families will notice the difference (we hope) at the next assembly and at other events.

We are engaging with architects Chaulk from Wangaratta who will help us develop a master plan for the school supporting our plan to facilitate the needs of our families into the future.  Parents are invited to participate in a consultation which will occur at school on Wednesday 3rd June from 4.30pm - 6.00pm.  If you would like to attend this consultation, please respond via email to cgoode@shtatura.catholic.edu.au  If you are unable to attend this consultation but would like to provide some feedback please use this link to fill in a form.  The feedback will help us shape a master plan which reflects the needs and wants of our school community.  A number of our students have worked with Kim and Julia (architects) this afternoon to provide their feedback on their ideas for our school into the future.

We are looking forward to welcoming our mothers and special ladies this Friday morning for a lovely breakfast.  If you have not yet replied and wish to attend this breakfast please reply today so we can adequately cater for this event.  You can RSVP by through this link.

This week is Catholic Education week, where we celebrate Catholic education and the important role of Catholic schools.  You will see some social media posts and later in the week we hope to share a video with you of our students and their experience of being in a Catholic school.

I will leave you with the prayer that we often pray with our students.  This prayer reflects the role of Mary as mother of Christ.  Happy Mothers’ Day to all this weekend

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen
