Term 4 Week 4
CONGRATULATIONS MRS DUNST
As our Director of Catholic Schools, Regina Menz announced last week, Mrs Renee Dunst, has been appointed to the role of Subject Matter Expert, Catholic Identity and Faith Formation for Armidale Catholic Schools. It is with mixed emotions that we extend a huge congratulations to Mrs Dunst. Whilst it is a sad time for us at St Nicholas School, it is an exciting opportunity and the next step for Mrs Dunst to share her wealth of knowledge and experience across other schools in our Diocese. Luckily, we will still get to see her often in the new role.
We will formally farewell Mrs Dunst later in the term, however I would like to take this opportunity to again congratulate her on this wonderful opportunity.
The recruitment process has started for an Assistant Principal/Religious Education Coordinator to replace Mrs Dunst and I look forward to updating our school community in due course.
REAL TALK - PARENT AND CAREGIVER SESSIONS
Next Wednesday, 12th November Real Talk will be running staff and parent/caregiver sessions. Real Talk is a company engaged by the Armidale Catholic Schools Office to provide seminars, reflection days and up to date resources for young people and we are lucky that this year they are running in-person parent and caregiver information sessions.
The primary parents session will be run at McCarthy Catholic College (entry through main pathway - follow the signs) between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
The topics covered will include:
Current culture and what’s impacting our kids.
Trends and statistics around young people and the use of technology.
Developmental changes in our kids.
How to have these important chats.
Over the last 12 months we have had many parents asking about the Real Talk sessions, so please take advantage of this great opportunity. Further details are included in the 'General News' of this newsletter.
YEAR 5 LAKE KEEPIT EXCURSION
As you read this Newsletter our Year 5 students, staff and some of our brave parents are enjoying the warmth and adventure of our annual Lake Keepit Excursion. This excursion runs over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Thank you to the staff and parent helpers for their organisation and supervision. We look forward to seeing lots of photos and hearing great stories in our next newsletter.
Take care and have a wonderful week.
