Lost Property

Lost Property - 18th March

A big thanks to the Grade 6 helpers who today assisted with sorting; then delivered a mountain of jackets and hats to the classrooms of owners of clearly labelled items!

Remaining in lost property is a huge pile of school jackets that we cannot work out who they belong to.

These will be donated to the second hand uniform shop if not collected prior to the final week of term.

There is still a large collection of non-school items with no name in lost property. Most of these items are from recent swimming events. They are located on the lower right shelf when you enter the room - check out the 5th March newsletter for photos.

Any non-school items that are not claimed prior to the final week of term will be donated to MSFIN or binned.

Our Lost Property is managed by parent / carer volunteers, with the assistance of students.

The Lost Property Room is located outside the staff room, and is unlocked from ~8am to 4:30pm on school days.

Items within the Lost Property Room are sorted alphabetically into tubs by name - either the first or last name, depending on which is more legible.

School items with no name, or if the name is not legible, are in separate tubs.

Students and parents / carers are asked to collect their belongings from this room. The school does not need to be informed if / when your item has been collected.

Lost property is periodically cleared out with unnamed and uncollected items donated to the Derinya second hand uniform shop or MSFIN.

To assist with having your lost items returned to you:

  • Please ensure that all of your child’s belongings are clearly labelled.
  • Please remind your child to collect their belongings before they return to the classroom.
  • Please teach your child to tie their jumper around their waist.

If your child has lost their jumper, rather than buying a new one, please consider supporting the school and choosing the more sustainable option of purchasing a replacement from the Derinya second hand uniform shop.
