School Sports - What's Happening

MELBOURE MAVERICKS VISIT HOLY ROSARY 2026 

Our Grade 3–6 students were treated to a very special visit on Thursday 5 March when Melbourne Mavericks stars Maddie Hay and Kim Brown stopped by Holy Rosary Primary School ahead of their big match against the Vixens.

Students enjoyed a lively Q&A session with the players, asking thoughtful questions about training and life as elite netballers. The excitement continued with a fun shoot‑off featuring our very own star netballer Miss Deary, joined by two Grade 6 students.

To finish the session, Maddie and Kim ran a series of netball drills with our Grade 5–6 students, giving them a taste of professional‑level skills and coaching. We were incredibly fortunate to host the Mavericks, as only two schools in Bendigo received a visit.

We thank Maddie and Kim for their time, and we wish them all the best for the season ahead.
