Principal's Report

Dear families,
I trust that you all enjoyed the Labour Day long weekend. This week has been really productive with the commencement of NAPLAN for our Year 3 and 5 students as well as our 3-6 swimming program. Our Foundation students will also have their first full week next week. Families of Foundation students, please brace for some really tired children come Friday afternoon.
2027 ENROLMENT INFORMATION
Our official enrolment period is approaching, and I welcome families to share this enrolment information with the wider community. We have several opportunities for existing and prospective community members to come in and learn about our wonderful school. See the below flyer for dates and times.
For all enrolment information and applications, please visit the website.
PLEASE NOTE: Principal and student-led tour bookings can be made via Enrolments / Book a Tour – See our website for the link. Capped numbers will apply. Please only register the adults who will be attending.
NAPLAN
NAPLAN 2026 for Year 3 and 5 commenced on Wednesday and got off to a shaky start, with technology issues, for our Year 5’s (in fact, all Year 5’s who attempted to access the NAPLAN platform). Despite this, our teaching staff and students remained exceptionally flexible and patient, and I cannot thank them enough. NAPLAN will continue next week. Best of luck to all of our students who are sitting NAPLAN for 2026.
SWIMMING
This week, our 3-6 students attended the Gurri Swim Centre in Kangaroo Flat for their swimming lessons. These sessions are very engaging and enjoyable for the students. Please be aware that there may be some really exhausted 3-6 children come Friday afternoon.
BUILDING PROJECT
As you will no-doubt have seen, if you have been on site over the past week, temp fencing and site sheds have been set up at the school for the build. There have been some administrative delays so far, but we are looking at a revised handover date for late-November.
Below are some conceptual drawings of the space. We are all very excited so see the progress over the next few weeks and months.
GRADE 6 CAMP - SUNNYSTONES
In Week Ten, our Year 6 students will travel to the Sunnystones camp for three days. Thanks to Dan and Lauren for their planning of the camp. This will be loads of fun.
OFFICE WALK THROUGH
Due to the temporary fencing blocking our main gate, we have noticed lots of students and families walking through the main office, through the side door, at the end of the day. Can I please ask that families and students, exit the school through the gates near the playground and walk the short distance around to the crossing. This will allow our admin staff t continue their work without the high frequency of foot-traffic and conversation through their workspace. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or concerns.
Have a great weekend.
Vin Ryan
Principal
