Parents and Friends Community News

🎉🎂🎉🎂What a way to celebrate 150 years of Brighton Primary!🎂🎉🎂🎉
Â
Last week our students and families came together to celebrate the 150th birthday of Brighton Primary School.
Â
There’s no better way to mark a birthday than with cake and presents! On Tuesday, our students enjoyed a special cupcake and received a commemorative 150th birthday keyring/bag tag, featuring the wonderful design created by Felicity Syms.
Â
On Thursday, the House competition took centre stage with the ever-popular Lap-a-thon. While final fundraising totals are still being tallied, congratulations to all our students for running hard and raising $$$$!
Â
Family Fun Night on Friday was a fantastic way to close out such a memorable week. Hundreds of members of our school community joined us for an evening filled with food, drinks, activities, and celebration.
Â
A huge thank you to the BPS Choir and Aoife Gavin for their beautiful singing, to BPS parent Yumi for creating a magnificent birthday cake, to our generous community for donating items for the prize hampers, to centenarian and former student Judy Hodge for joining us and drawing the raffle, to Riley & Steve for their support in preparing for the night, and to the many volunteers who cooked sausages, popped popcorn, churned slushies, sold showbags and poured drinks. And of course, thank you to the families who came along to enjoy a truly special evening.
Â
Congratulations to all our raffle prize winners who are the lucky recipients of the beautiful hampers made up of donated items from our very generous school community. Well done to Elan, Scarlett, Igna, Alex, Violet, Shane, Jack, Freya, Natalie, Danny, Chloe, Harry, Zoe, Jana and M.Â
Â
With just one Parents & Friends event left this year, the Fun Lunch sausage sizzle, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting our events throughout 2025.
Â
While fundraising plays a role, the true success of these events is measured by the engagement and connection within our school community. When we look back on the year, we hope our efforts have helped everyone feel part of the Brighton Primary family, created opportunities to meet new people, build friendships and simply have fun.
Â
We look forward to bringing you many more wonderful events in 2026. Volunteers are always needed to help plan and run these occasions, so if you’re interested, please reach out at brightonpspfc@gmail.com
