From the Principal

Bonjour tout le monde
The Second Week of Advent
As we move into the second week of Advent, we light the candle of peace, a gentle reminder of the calm and stillness Christ invites us to bring into our lives. In the midst of end-of-year busyness, Advent encourages us to slow down, breathe deeply and make room for God’s peace to settle in our hearts and homes. Our liturgy this week was presented by our Year 1 and 2 students, who did a wonderful job reading, reflecting and leading the whole school in prayer.
This week is an opportunity to help our children understand that peace begins with small acts: speaking kindly, forgiving quickly, including others and choosing patience. These simple moments reflect the peace Jesus brings into our world.
May the peace of Christ fill your family with comfort, harmony, and hope as we continue our journey toward Christmas.
Advent Liturgies
Over the next three weeks St Bede's will be gathering together in the Hall to celebrate the season of Advent. We will be led in these short reflective services by different year groups. All members of our community are more than welcome to attend these liturgies. Please see the schedule below:
Advent Liturgy Week 3 - Monday 8th December 9:00am Year 3 & 4
Advent Liturgy Week 4 - Monday 15th December 9:00am Year 5 & 6
Welcome to St Bede's
I am very pleased to announce that Miss Natasha Bastasin will be joining our Year 3/4 team for 2026. Natasha completed her teaching degree in July this year and has been teaching in various schools since graduating. Natasha completed a teaching placement at St Bede's in prep in 2023, so some of our Year 2 students may remember her.
I am also excited to announce that Miss Phoebe Anderton will be joining our classroom teaching staff in 2026. She already knows all the students and staff as she part of our Learning Support team and our Term 4 Visual Art teacher this year. Phoebe will be completing her Bachelor of Education (Primary) in the next month.
Adriana Scardilli will be rejoining St Bede's as our STEM teacher next year after a year of parental leave. Over this term, Adriana has worked as a casual relief teacher, reconnecting with students and staff.
Farewell
Leah Chapman has informed me that she will not be returning to St Bede's in 2026. We thank Leah for the wonderful contributions she has made at St Bede's and wish her all the very best in her next role.
Que Dieu bénisse
Kathryn
