YEAR 6 MIXED SOFTBALL

After winning the Murdoch District competition in Term 1, the Boys’ softball team qualified for the Northern Peninsula Division competition which they played on Tuesday at the Wilson Road Reserve in Mornington.

The first game against Belvedere was a close encounter with both teams fielding extremely well. In the third inning, the boys batted extremely well to win the game 21 – 15.

In the second game, although the boys won 18 – 9 to Karingal, they lacked a little discipline. Determined to win against Flinders, they were back to their positive best, concentrating and communicating effectively with each other. Winning 17 – 7, the boys will now progress through to the Regional finals on Wednesday 11th November.

Congratulations to:

6/9 – Byron K, James I, Lincoln L

6/10 – Emerson M, Harrison B, Ari C, Lennox S, Rhett P

6/12 – Finn D, Lennon K, Austin T, Obie W

Thank you also to the parents who assisted with transport and support on the day.

REGIONAL ATHLETICS

On Wednesday, in very hot conditions, 13 of our students competed at the Regional Athletics which was held at Casey Fields. There were students from over 200 schools competing at this level, so the standard of competition was extremely high. In each event students had to compete against 15 other students. For some students it was their first time at this level. At this stage I have not received all the results, thus results will be known when students are presented with certificates at the next assembly.

Congratulations to:

10 Years:

Mya T, Bonnie A, Ellie M, Grace P, Kai L, Koah G

11 Years:

Emma K, Mia F, Billy T, Paxton G, Louey C

12 Years:

Olivia EL, Finn D

Two results which are known, are Mya T, who placed 2nd in the 10 Years 100m and Kai L who finished 3rd in the 10 Years Long Jump. An outstanding result form our Year 4 students who were competing for the first time at Region. Mya will now be competing at the State championships next Thursday. Good luck Mya.

As always, a big thank you to all parents who transported their child and supported all our athletes.
