Welcome back to Term 4! It is hard to believe we are already here, and we have enjoyed a smooth start to the term. The coming weeks will see many of the projects we have been planning throughout the year come to life.

Thank you to everyone supporting our Coles Gateway initiative. We are currently sitting first on the leaderboard as we work towards our $5,000 goal. Please continue to support us where you can.

Term 4 is a busy time for families, work and school, so staying organised and informed is more important than ever. Please check Compass at least once a week to keep up to date with important information, events and reminders.

As we reflect on our 2026 goals, we are incredibly proud of the progress made across both Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing. Our achievements have exceeded expectations and have been recognised within our network, reflecting the dedication of our staff and the commitment of our students.

We will continue to prioritise calm, consistent routines to support students through the busy weeks and changes that come with the end of the school year.

End-of-year assessments are underway as we prepare academic reports and evaluate student progress. The Department’s streamlined reporting system will make reports easier for families to read and understand.

Our Cluster Network Mathematics Project also continues, focusing on student learning and outcomes across Years 5–9. Feedback from this work has highlighted the importance of strengthening number fluency, which will be a key focus in our 2027 planning.

Colour Run

What a fantastic day! Thank you to our School Council Community Connection team for organising such a successful event. Together, we raised almost $17,000 in profit, which will be reinvested into further developing our playgrounds for students to enjoy.

With our Parents and Friends Committee (PFC) currently in recess, events like this demonstrate what we can achieve when our community comes together. We hope this inspires more families to join our School Council fundraising team or help reinvigorate our PFC in the future.

Tiered Garden Project

Our tiered garden is almost ready to bloom, thanks to the incredible efforts of our school community!

A huge thank you to Gary for his amazing work digging out the garden beds, Kerryn for developing the planting plan, and our staff team for bringing the project together. We are also grateful to Forest & Field, one of our nursery families, for supporting the project, and to all the parents who purchased plants.

It has been wonderful to see everyone's contributions come together, and I look forward to seeing the finished garden flourish.

There is already plenty happening behind the scenes as we prepare for next year. Workforce planning, class organisation, booklists, parent payment information and student leadership processes are all progressing.

We are pleased to have experienced an increase in enrolments and are planning for 26 classes in 2027.

2027 Year 6 Hoodie

Our Year 6 hoodie designs have gone through several drafts, combining ideas to create a final design that reflects our students and school community. The names for the back of the hoodies have now been sent to the printer, and sales will be opening soon. Further information will be shared with families shortly.

Transitions

We look forward to welcoming our future Foundation students and families to LPPS. Four transition sessions are planned to help our youngest learners become familiar with the school, meet staff and build confidence ahead of 2027.

Parent information sessions will also run while students participate in classroom activities, helping families feel informed and prepared for this important next step.

Building Works

There has been plenty of progress across our school grounds and facilities!

We recently completed a successful emergency management drill, with students moving from outside to inside during a lockdown and all roles accounted for within

seven minutes. Thank you to our staff and students for their calm and efficient response.

Our roofing project is almost complete, and the team has been fantastic to work with as we continue improving our school. Year 6 students have returned to their classrooms following repairs to the wall leak, while renovation work in the Year 4 classrooms is nearing completion, with painting and new carpets being finalised before students move back in.

Work will soon begin on restoring the sleeper wall near TheirCare and improving that basketball area. Renovation of our outdoor basketball court is also due to begin in just over a week, adding to the improvements we are making to our school environment.

Assemblies

We are currently trialling morning assemblies to avoid the heat of summer afternoons in the hall and support more focused, efficient assemblies where students can engage fully. Thank you for your support as we trial this approach.

Term 4 is always busy, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how much we have achieved together.

Our students are learning and growing, our community continues to strengthen, and our facilities are improving. Together, we are building a school where every child has the opportunity to learn, belong and Sculpt the Future.

Thank you for your ongoing support, positivity and belief in Langwarrin Park Primary School. Your contributions, big and small, make a real difference to our students and our school..

Keep Sculpting the Future.
