Whole School Transition 2026

Across the term we will be holding 4 transition sessions to help all students prepare for the changes in 2027. Our new cohort of Prep students will be joining us for each of these, from their Kinders, and all students across the school will also be able to transition to new learning spaces where they will meet new teachers, staff and peers that may be with them in classes next year. 

We know that leaving this year's teachers and classes can be daunting for many, so this process is to help support our students with this change. They will work in small groups with familiar and less familiar peers, complete tasks that help build their confidence for the year ahead and allow them to get to know teachers and staff from across the school. 

Our first transition morning is on Thursday 22nd October, from 9.30am - 10.30am. 

Glen and I, along with school leaders, are working on our staffing profile for 2027. This means that teachers have not been allocated to year levels yet and are not known. We hope to be able to complete this process over the coming weeks and look forward to sharing more details with you through the term. 

GOOD FIT ICECREAMS are being sent home this week to all P-5 students for 2027. We do our best to match students and get the best 'combo' of students in our classes to ensure a successful year. Students are asked to write down up to 4 friends that they feel will be a good fit to have in their classes. Having a friendly and familiar face or two in classes for everyone can help with that smooth transition into a new school year, so please discuss friendships with your child/ren and return the ICECREAMs to your child's class teacher by the end of next week - Friday October 16. 

Staff will use this information along with several surveys to help with the development of classes for the new year. If you have any queries about this process, Glen and I are happy to meet with you to discuss your child and their needs further. You are also welcome to meet with your child's current teacher. We can't guarantee certain teachers or classes for your child, but we do take everyone's views into account and always endeavour to have the best outcomes for everyone.
