First Eucharist – Congratulations to our Candidates

Gallery Image

On Sunday we celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist with many of our Year 4 students .

Our students spent time preparing for this special sacrament, deepening their understanding of the Eucharist and what it means to be welcomed into fuller participation in the life of the Church. This was an important milestone in their faith journey, and we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers as they reflect on this significant occasion.

Throughout the term, all Year 3 and 4 students engaged in learning that explored what it means to live together as kind, compassionate and respectful people. For students preparing for First Eucharist, this learning also connected to understanding the Eucharist as a sacrament that strengthens Christians to go out and live in the way of Jesus, showing care, generosity and love for others.

Reconciliation for Eucharist

Last week, our First Eucharist candidates gathered for a special prayer service of Reconciliation as part of their preparation for the Sacrament. During this time, students were given the opportunity to say sorry and put things right, preparing their hearts to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.

It was a beautiful and reverent experience, and we were very proud of the respect and maturity shown by the students. We thank our families for their ongoing support and ask that you keep our candidates in your prayers as they continue this important journey.

As part of this year’s St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal, we are now inviting families to donate non-perishable food items to support those in need within our community.

Our student Social Justice Team is leading this important initiative, encouraging our school community to give generously and put their faith into action in a practical and meaningful way.

This outreach connects beautifully with Pope Leo XIV’s prayer intention for May, reminding us of the importance of ensuring all people have access to food and basic necessities.

To support the organisation of donations, each year level has been allocated specific items to bring:

We are grateful for your support and generosity as we begin collecting items.

We kindly ask that all donations be brought to school by Wednesday 10th June, in preparation for our Feast of the Sacred Heart Mass on Friday 12th. Thank you for your generosity and support of this important initiative.
