A Night at Rosemount

On Wednesday 3 June, students took to the stage for A Night at Rosemount, an evening celebrating contemporary music and student performance. 

The audience enjoyed a diverse program of music, with Swing Band II kicking off the evening performing My Dinner with Ronald and Spiderman. Swing Band I followed with renditions of Honk, Mi Corazon and Until I Met You, with smooth solos from within the band.

The night shifted from Jazz to Rock with our youngest band, The Sky Watchers bringing energy to the stage with performances of Baby I've Got You on My Mind, Seven Nation Army and Teenage Dirtbag. 

Missing Time delivered a strong set featuring Break On Through, Brick in the Wall, The Middle and Get Lucky. 

The crowd were then treated to a special duet by Bailey Thomas and Bowie McCabe performing Traffic in the Sky. Suns of Icarus closed the evening with an impressive collection of songs. Moonage Daydream, Dark Necessities and Are You Gonna Go My Way were just a few highlights from this bands set. 

The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to perform in a professional live music venue, demonstrating their musical skills, confidence and dedication in front of an enthusiastic audience.

Thank you to all the staff, friends and families that attended to support these emerging local musicians! The next Contemporary Music Showcase is scheduled in Term 4.
