World's Greatest Shave
Class of 2026
On behalf of the Class of 2026, please find the link below to donate to our Year 12 team for the upcoming World's Greatest Shave in Week 8 of this Term. Our team has a number of Year 12 students (currently at 65 students) shaving their head to raise funds and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Blood cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian children, and the team is looking to do their bit in raising funds and awareness for the cause. Every donation big or small makes a massive difference and we would very much appreciate anything you may be able to contribute.

Round 4 + Round 5
Debating Update
Last Wednesday night on the 27th of May, Trinity’s Novice and Junior (Y10) teams fronted up to Perth Modern School to debate opponents on topics related to the ‘Environment’.
The Trinity College Novice Team, comprising of Nolan Morch (7.1), Daniel Patrick (7.1) and Cassius McGovern (8.7) took on the Negative team from Perth Modern School. They debated the motion: If this house were a penguin, and there was a hole in the fence, it would escape the Perth Zoo. Certainly, a quirky and interesting topic, the boys presented creative arguments about why their penguin would escape and what it would do once outside the boundaries of Perth Zoo. However, their opposition proved just a little too strong on the night, with the boys unable to secure their desired outcome.
Later that evening, the Junior Y10 team of Matteo Redolatti (10.3), Jack Katich (10.5), Dexter Pereira (10.5) and reserve Spencer Hathrill (10.2) also competed against Perth Modern, debating on the topic: This house, as environmental activists, would privilege systemic change instead of individual change. Despite a valiant effort with some solid points and rebuttal, the Trinity team were unable to come away with the win on the night.
This week on Thursday, for the first debate of Round #5, stalwart debaters Spencer Hathrill (10.2) and Fred Brockett (10.1) formed a formidable team to debate opponents from the Classical School. Despite having only having 2 debaters, the boys were able to ‘iron’ their debate, with Spencer speaking first, and Fred holding the fort with both the second and third speaker roles. What ensued was a high-quality debate from both sides, with very thoughtful and well-developed arguments on the topic: This house would allow people in jail to participate in drug trials in return for a reduction of time on their sentences. It was a very close contest, with the adjudicator finally awarding the win to Trinity. Well done to both students for stepping up and giving it their all!
Final debates for Round #5 and two additional catch-up debates will be held over the next two weeks. We wish all the debaters well and look forward to a strong finish to this 2026 WADL Debating season!
