The Friends’ School Uniform
At Friends', the wearing of the School uniform is an important part of our students’ connection to and pride in our community. It helps foster a sense of belonging and reflects the shared expectations and values of the School.
Students may wear their sports uniform for the day if they have two or more sporting commitments, active classes such as HPE, Dance, Drama or Connections, or if they ride a bicycle a substantial distance to school. Further information regarding the school uniform is available here.
We appreciate the ongoing support of families in ensuring students wear the correct uniform items, including official school sports shorts for PE and sporting activities. Please note that plain navy or black shorts and bike pants are not part of the school uniform.
We also ask families to support students in wearing their uniform in a manner that reflects the expectations of the School and presents a neat and appropriate appearance. In particular, skirts should be worn at a practical and suitable length for the School environment. Earrings need to be small enough so that a little finger can't fit through them, and they should not be too dangly - this becomes a safety issue otherwise.
Students are welcome to wear blemish-control makeup. Clear nail polish is also acceptable with the school uniform; however, other nail polish colours and cosmetic options are not part of the school uniform expectations.
If a student is unable to wear the correct uniform for any reason, please contact your child’s Key Teacher in advance.
