Principal's Report

Dear families,

As we look ahead to next week, it’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the halfway point of the year. Semester 1 has flown by quickly and there is so much that we are proud of for the year so far.

STAFFING - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL - SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT

Over the past couple of months, our school has conducted a rigorous recruitment process to appoint our Deputy Principal – School Improvement for 2027. Having worked with a very deep and strong field of applicants, I am very pleased to announce that Shelley DeAraugo has accepted the position commencing next year. For the remainder of 2026, we continue in our current structure with Shelley and Mandy sharing the role.

Shelley, as you know, brings a wealth of knowledge to our Learning and Teaching space, demonstrates excellent leadership of our school and has a wonderful rapport withing our community. Congratulations Shelley.

DIVISION 1 SOCCER VICTORY

A massive congratulations to our senior girls' soccer team who won the Division 1 final last Thursday. We, and the girls, could not have been prouder of this achievement and the effort put in. I thank our supercoaches; Hamish and Troy, and the staff and families who attended. I believe that the next stage is in Swan Hill.

REPORTING

We are currently in the process of finalising our Semester 1 reports in preparation for them going home next Friday. We have made some slight changes to our Term 3 Learning Conversations and will look more to these being scheduled early and an opportunity for families to discuss the report with teachers if you wish – These will be optional for families. More information regarding this will be sent in the next day (if not already).

BUILDING

You will have noticed, if you have been on site this week, that the builders have had a huge crane erecting steel. We have been saying that, once the build comes out of the ground, it will progress very rapidly, and we are now seeing this. At this stage, we are still on track for late November.

LAST DAY

On our last day next week, school will conclude at 2:15pm rather than 3:15pm. Our day will begin with our whole school end-of-term Mass, with the presentation of Catherine McAuley Awards at the conclusion of Mass.

As always, I invite you to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I wish you all a happy and safe mid-year school break.
