Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer 💖
Loving God,
As we enter the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time, we pause with grateful hearts for the gift of life and the opportunities each new day brings.
Help us to grow in faith and to trust in Your care, especially when life feels uncertain. Renew our hearts and guide our actions so that we may be people of kindness, patience, and hope.
May our school community be a place where we support one another, share generously, and live with compassion. Inspire us to use our gifts to serve others and to make a positive difference each day.
Bless our students, families, and staff. May we walk gently with one another and continue to build a community filled with peace and love.
Amen
Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time
The Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time is a gentle reminder to stay close to God’s love and presence in our everyday lives. It invites us to trust in this care, grow in faith, and share kindness with those around us. As we move through each day, we are encouraged to bring peace, love, and goodness into our school community.
Winter Wonderland School Holiday Program at Sacred Heart❄️
I am pleased to share that Sacred Heart OSHC will be offering a Winter Wonderland School Holiday Program during these upcoming holidays.
This program is being introduced as a trial, and we are hopeful for strong participation so that we may continue to offer and grow this valuable service for our school community in the future.
Children are welcome to attend for one or multiple days, with flexible booking options available for families. Each day will provide engaging and enjoyable experiences where children can play, create, explore, and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment.
We are confident students will enjoy the program, with opportunities to try new activities, build friendships, and return home each day excited to share their experiences.
The program also becomes very affordable after the maximum CCS is applied*, supporting families to access quality holiday care.
We warmly encourage Sacred Heart families to consider this opportunity and we are hopeful for strong enrolments so that the program can continue beyond this initial trial period at Sacred Heart.
We look forward to welcoming children into our Winter Wonderland this holiday break ❄️

Sacred Heart Feast Day Mass & Celebration
We warmly invite all Sacred Heart families and students to join us in celebrating our Sacred Heart Feast Day on Sunday 14 June 2026.
The celebration will begin with 10.30am Mass, followed by a community gathering at:
Bridge Darebin 220 High Street, Preston VIC 3072
We would love to see our families and students come together to celebrate our parish and school community.
Father Aloysious has asked that our school banner be part of the procession during Mass, and it would be wonderful to have a strong Sacred Heart family presence on the day.
We are currently seeking volunteers who may be willing to assist with catering, preparation and set up for the celebration. If you are interested in helping, please let me know. I will share further details and information early next week.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you can join us for this special celebration.
We will also be celebrating our Sacred Heart School Feast Day on Monday 15 June at school. More information will be shared via the Audiri App.
Week 8 Reminder – Curriculum Day
Please note that Monday 8 June is the King’s Birthday Public Holiday and there will be no school on this day.
On Tuesday 9 June, Sacred Heart staff will participate in a Curriculum Day with local Catholic schools. Staff will engage in Religious Education Professional Learning led by Brother David Hall, Dean of the La Salle Academy at Australian Catholic University.
This professional learning will further support staff in strengthening Religious Education and faith formation at Sacred Heart.
There will be no classes for students on Tuesday 9 June. MACSEYE will be available for families requiring care on this day.
We thank families for their support and understanding.
Little Learners Club
Our Little Learners had a great time going fishing, playing with cars and making all sorts of yummy food in our play kitchen on Monday. We had pasta, broccoli, eggs and sushi being cooked on pans. We read the story There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake by Hazel Edwards and enjoyed chatting about all the silly things the hippopotamus gets up to on their roof. The children then made their own special cakes for the hippopotamus using clay.
Our next Little Learners Club runs every on Monday the 15th of June from 9-10am. All are welcome! It's a great opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with the school and teachers, make friends and enjoy developmentally appropriate play and learning experiences.
We would love to see you there!
