SCHOOL COUNCIL

School Council Update
Last Monday School Council met for the 1st time this year.
Discussions were around –
The new grass and the front of the school and wanting to dedicate some funds raised at the Fair to complete the front of the school grounds.
Concerns raised around the damage occurring at school over weekends and after hours. Teens on the roof, breaking taps off and general misuse of the sensory garden, electric scooters damaging the astroturf amongst other things.
It is sad that our local community are treating the grounds this way, and we encourage families if onsite on weekends to please encourage visitors to do the right thing. Due to the increased concern in regard to this type of behaviour, we have sought approval from the Department of Education to install CCTV and have had this confirmed. We are currently quoting for this at the moment, with the install hopefully complete in the school holidays. It is unfortunate that we are having to spend funds on this, that we could otherwise spend on other things to support your children here at school, but the increased funds we are using on trades to repair damage is exceeding what is planned for.
Acceptable Use Agreement – Students are currently signing off on the Acceptable Use Agreement within classes to ensure we are using technology safely and adhering to policy in regards to this. Part of this is to outline clearly that students are NOT to contact parents via Apple Watches or devices whilst at school and vice versa.
We also ran through the timeline for the School Council elections taking place this month.
